Agreement:
This page represents an agreement between you, the “client”, and me, the “practitioner”. It covers the statutory requirements of the GDPR where “Lorraine Stronach Counselling” acts as a “Data Controller”.
It also protects your right to confidentiality and confirms my duty of care.
This agreement is designed to help us work together effectively; it will assist in making clear how your treatment will be of maximum benefit to you.
- If you are unable to make an appointment please contact me ASAP, via the Website or on my mobile phone, so that we can make alternative arrangements.
- Equally, if I am unable to be there for whatever reason I will contact you ASAP.
- If you decide for whatever reason not to continue with the therapy you will advise me.
- We will be open and honest with each other concerning any aspect of the session which you may be unclear or unhappy about.
- I will respect your confidentiality at all times, but must reserve the right to speak with your GP, or another therapist if I believe that it is in your best interests to share some element of our discussions. I cannot keep confidential anything you disclose about criminal activity or the possibility of harm to yourself or others. However, I will tell you exactly what I say or write.
- You have the right to read any notes I write about our work together.
- I do offer telephone support in difficult situations for you. We may be able to speak there and then or I can arrange to speak to you, or see you, ASAP.
- As a professional counsellor and psychotherapist, I support my clients to address personal issues, problems or challenges. I am not a medical doctor, so I do not diagnose mental disorders or prescribe medication.
- Please feel free to discuss any aspect of this agreement with me at any time.
